Autumnal Descent

Floating,
	falling,
		buffeted wildly.
	Sinking,
sailing,
	on brittle wings.

			Frail,
	fractured,
I am cut loose.

Spiraling,
		spinning
	down
        down
        down
     till I rest
   and nestle deep.

Blown,
	with brothers,
		across the night.
	Thinning,
broken,
        transparent light.

	Flecked,
        decaying,
    returning to earth.

	Pieces,
      nutrients,
    giving new birth.
